Personality Assessment & Accompaniment
At the heart of Salama’s psychosocial model is the belief that each individual has a unique journey to healing and reintegration. The Personality Assessment and Accompaniment (PAA) program is designed to recognize and respond to this individuality. Upon enrollment into any Salama program—whether mental health support, reintegration, or vocational training—every beneficiary undergoes a structured psychosocial and behavioral assessment. This helps our clinical and case management teams understand the client’s coping mechanisms, emotional needs, risk factors, and readiness for transformation.
We employ a combination of culturally adapted psychological tools, guided interviews, and trauma-informed observational methods to conduct these assessments. Our trained staff then develop a personalized care plan for each client, outlining the emotional, social, spiritual, and economic supports they may need to thrive. More importantly, each individual is matched with an accompaniment officer or mentor—a trained Salama professional or trusted community volunteer—who walks with them over time, providing encouragement, referrals, and a safe space to express challenges without judgment.
The “accompaniment” model reflects our commitment to dignity, empathy, and resilience-building. Many of our clients have lived through displacement, violence, exploitation, or severe isolation. By assigning a consistent and compassionate guide, Salama ensures that no one walks the road to recovery alone. Over time, we’ve seen remarkable transformations: individuals previously marginalized begin to lead peer groups, volunteer as ambassadors, or co-facilitate community dialogues. Personality Assessment and Accompaniment is not just a program—it is a pillar of trust and transformation.
